In the year 1647 a man named Nathaniel Bacon was born. He had wealthy merchant parents and went to Cambridge University. Nathaniel took a turn in his life in 1676 and led a famous rebellion. It all started when Governor William Berkeley made a law that stated the Native Americans can stay in colonial land. This infuriated Nathaniel, so he gathered a bunch of settlers and started to attack William Berkeley and the Native Americans. Soon close to 1,000 of Berkeley’s followers joined in and together they torched the capital. In 1677 Nathaniel Bacon died of dysentery. Then the followers soon fell apart without a leader like ants without a queen.
